Like a lot of people, I started off using Windows (3.1 to be exact), and continued using it until 2013. That's when I heard of the rise of Ubuntu and decided to give it a go. Like most people, I tried it, but then gave up on it because the environment was just too alien, too "not Windows".
Its worth mentioning here that like a lot of Arch Linux fans, I tried many other Arch based distros like Antergos, Arch Bang and Arch Labs. But none of them measure up to EndeavourOS.
EndeavourOS is currently at the 75th rank at DistroWatch and climbing really fast. It just needs the support of open-source developers and users to gain more visibility. So if you're a developer, consider developing apps for the EndeavourOS maintainers, or compile Linux apps for the AUR. If you're a user, spread the word, because this baby is all set to beat Manjaro, and maybe even Mint.

However, unlike most people, I never dual-booted Linux. I would back up all of my data, delete my Windows partition and install Ubuntu in an overwrite partition. However, that wasn't enough to convince me to stay with Linux.
Five or six times back and forth between Windows and Ubuntu, I finally gained the maturity to completely dump Windows along with all the software that ran on it. Surprisingly though, even at that time, I found a Linux alternative to everything I was using with Windows. Libre Office seemed to work completely fine with .docx files, I had Gimp as a replacement to Photoshop, and for programming, I had much better tools than Windows.
After a few years though, I was getting tired of adding repositories to Ubuntu if I needed a new version of something. Also, the later versions of Ubuntu seemed to be getting slower than the earlier ones, not to mention upgrading Ubuntu to the latest version broke quite a few apps.
That's when I decided to try a different flavor of Linux. After quite a bit of distro-jumping, I came across Manjaro, and it was an instant keeper. It didn't have the bloat of Ubuntu, it had many desktop environment options right on the website and best of all, it was based on Arch Linux, that was based on the rolling release model, so no distinct versions to upgrade to. Add to that the AUR (Arch User Repository), that has everything you can think of in terms of Linux programs.
I enjoyed the features of Arch Linux, blanketed by Manjaro for a few years. But then, I got another tingle, to try and configure pure Arch Linux. Needless to say it is a LOT of work. I successfully did it a few times, but honestly, I never liked the UI that I configured. So I was looking for something that was as beautiful as Manjaro, and as bleeding edge as Arch.
That's when I stumbled upon EndeavourOS. This little beauty is a pure Arch Linux core wrapped only with a cutomized XFCE desktop, and a Calamares installer. So basically EVERYTHING an Arch enthusiast could ask for.
